Pre-Kindergarten Program
Our half-day pre-Kindergarten program for 4 year olds is part of the East Hampton School District continuum offered by the District to residents at no charge. Residents of other school districts are welcomed, and are charged a private pay fee. Children entering the pre-k program must turn four by December 1 of that school year. The Center enrolls an average of 54 pre-K students annually. The Success for All curriculum used in the pre-K classrooms articulates with the John Marshall Elementary School in East Hampton, providing a seamless transition for children moving from the early care and Pre-K program to Kindergarten. The goals of the program are to provide children with the social and early literacy skills that will enable them to enter Kindergarten ready to learn.
Staffed by a state certified lead teacher and one assistant, each classroom maintains a child: teacher ratio of 8:1. All lead teachers have Bachelor’s degrees in early education, two have Master’s Degrees in early education and one is working towards a Master’s in Special Education.
We offer an extended day program to create a full-day program for an additional, modest fee to parents.
